Us the Duo Returns

Us the Duo re-enters the Social 50 chart dated Nov. 7 at a new peak (No. 36) after spending just one week on the tally previously (Jan. 10 at No. 45).

The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Wikipedia, Tumblr and Vine. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and engagement.

The husband-and-wife duo (Michael and Carissa Rae Alvarado) gains on the list after a trip to the White House on Oct. 19. As a part of First Lady Michele Obama’s “Better Make Room” education awareness campaign targeting Generation Z (14-19 year-olds), a group of popular Vine stars (Us the Duo has 4.9 million followers on the platform) visited the White House, creating content to spread the campaign’s messages.

Us the Duo’s vines about their trip to the White House, including clips with other popular viners such as Lele Pons (9.7 million followers), gathered over 10.6 million loops for the week ending Oct. 25, according to Next Big Sound. Us the Duo added 38,000 followers on Vine and 242,000 likes and comments, a 1,153 percent increase over the previous frame. The couple also added 19,000 followers on Instagram, where they counted down to the release of their new original single “Slow Down Time” on Oct. 23.
